The word SCION signifies a grafting or joining of separate, compatible parts or branches into a stronger, unified unit.

Scion Steel was co-founded by Rick Costantini and Charlie Hurches in 1984. Through their sixty years of experience in the steel industry, Costantini and Hurches saw the need for a single-source supplier of quality steel products that could deliver custom orders to exacting specifications in a prompt, efficient manner. They joined their diverse talents and understanding of manufacturing, sales and service, along with the resources of two strategically located facilities, to offer an unparalleled combination of quality and customer service.

In 2000, Micky Tschirhart joined Scion Steel as the Vice President of Product, Marketing and Sales. Micky is a co-owner of Scion and responsible for business development.

1985: Received MMBDC certification

1990: Joined Metal Service Center Institute as member

1997: Joined North American Steel Alliance as member
